Build a Healthy Bowl at Poke It Up

arlington restaurants

If you're looking for a healthy meal but you only have a few minutes to spare, the Pentagon City Fashion Centre's food court has a fresh option: Poke It Up. The eatery showcases the Hawaiian poke bowl, a dish that traditionally consists of rice, fresh tuna, and eclectic toppings. Come to Poke It Up, grab a paper menu, and check off the components you want in your meal.

Opt for a classic poke bowl or a sushi burrito, then decide on either two or three scoops of fish. Next, choose a base of sushi rice, brown rice, salad, or a mix of two. Pick a protein like classic ahi tuna, yellowtail, crab meat, or salmon, and then try traditional soy sauce or the house's special soy sauce. Then load on the toppings. You can check off up to seven toppings, like edamame and sweet onion, tempura flakes and sesame seeds, or mango and seaweed salad. Options even include crushed Doritos. As the final embellishment, choose spicy aioli, wasabi aioli, or sweet mango aioli. Then dig into your bowl with carrot milk or sweet tea on the side.
